Join us on a visit to the Sahara Desert. During this 2-day adventure, our friendly, experienced team will pick you up in Fes and take you through the captivating Middle Atlas Mountains, beautiful Berber villages, and cedar forests near Azrou city all the way to the magical Sahara Desert. Get ready for a nice camel trek over the golden dunes and get ready to take some pictures of the most beautiful sunrise/sunset. Also, you will enjoy an overnight stay under the desert skies of Merzouga.
On the first day, our journey starts at your riad in Fes. First off, our driver will pick you up and head to Ifrane, known as the “Little Switzerland of Morocco,”. It is famous for its alpine architecture, clean streets, and a prestigious university that hosts both Moroccan and international students.
As we driver further into the Middle Atlas Mountains, we will pass through cedar forests on the road. A home to Barbary apes. It is also a perfect spot for a short walk and some photos. After that, we’ll drive via the Tizi Talghomt pass, enjoying breathtaking views until we arrive in Erfoud.
We will make our next stop is Erfoud city, known as the gateway to the desert, before finally making it to Merzouga. Upon arrival, we will be welcomed with a glass of traditional mint tea. At that point, it’s time for your short camel trek across the dunes, as the sun goes down in the Sahara. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Camel men will drop you off at the desert camp for a cozy and calm overnight stay. Once there, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner under the stars and listen to live Berber music around the campfire.
On the second day our journey, we recommend waking up early to see a breathtaking sunrise over the desert dunes. After that, we are going to enjoy a tasty desert breakfast, take a nice shower.
Having done that, we will head back to Fes, but we will still explore the lively town of Rissani, walk in its traditional souks and then drive through the magical mountain roads of the Middle Atlas, pausing for breaks from time to time before we arrive in Fes. By late afternoon, we’ll drop you off at your riad or airport in Fes.
It usually takes one hour or one hour and a half and it is fun experience, as you can also take pictures.
There is no specific outfit for that; however, make sure you wear comfortable clothing and a scarf, as the sun could be a little too hot.
Yes, standard and luxury desert camps are super comfortable. Both include private tents with private bathrooms and delicious local Moroccan meals
You can book directly on our website, via WhatsApp, email. All options work. Just make sure you book in advance
I booked this 2-day desert tour last minute, and it turned out to be a great decision. Everything was well organized. The highlight, of course, was the Sahara — riding the camel at sunset and waking up for sunrise over the dunes. The drive was long but scenic, and we stopped often to rest and enjoy the views. Good value for money.
This trip was perfect for our short itinerary! My friends and I only had two days, but we didn’t feel rushed. Ifrane was cool and clean, the drive was scenic, and arriving at the desert just in time for the sunset camel ride felt like a reward. The campfire and music made for a great vibe. Highly recommend if you want a quick, high-impact desert adventure.
This 2-day trip from Fes to the Sahara was one of the most peaceful and enriching experiences I’ve ever had. Watching the sunset on the top of the dunes and sleeping under the stars was absolutely surreal. The route through Ifrane and the cedar forests was beautiful, and our guide was incredibly kind and professional. As a solo traveler, I felt safe, cared for, and completely inspired.
My husband and I took this short tour to Merzouga and it was magical from start to finish. The camel trek at sunset felt like a scene from a movie, and the desert camp was cozy, with great food and lovely music. We loved the stop in Rissani too — it felt like stepping back in time. This tour was the highlight of our Moroccan honeymoon!
We did the 2-day desert trip with our kids, and they still talk about it! The monkeys in the cedar forest were a hit, and the camel ride into the dunes was a dream come true for them. The camp was safe, clean, and family-friendly, and we all enjoyed the drumming and starry night. Perfect if you want a short but rich Sahara experience with children.
