Let’s embark on a 6-day tour through Morocco. First off, we will start our journey from the vibrant city of Tangier in northern Morocco to the magical Sahara and to the imperial cities of Fes and then to Marrakech.
On the first day of our 6-day adventure from Tangier, the gateway between Europe and Africa, we will hit the road and travel through the magestic Rif Mountains to explore the beautiful blue Chefchaouen, a town known for its colorful alleys and many handicraft shops. After some time of exploring Chefchaouen, we will drive south to the cultural and spiritual city of Fes for an overnight stay.
On the second day, we will dive into the rich history of Fes, one of the oldest of Morocco’s imperial cities. Once there, We will explore the UNESCO-listed Medina, with its narrow streets, many mosques and monuments as well as vibrant souks and tanneries. We will visit landmarks like Al Quaraouiyine University, the Bou Inania Madrasa, and the Royal Palace gates. We will make sure we visit every corner there and allow you all the time you need for exploration and taking photos.
After a nice breakfast at the Riad, we will leave Fes and drive via the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop at Ifrane, often known as the “Switzerland of Morocco”. Next, we will explore cedar forest of Azrou, a home for wild Barbary macaques ( a type of friendly monkeys). After that, we will continue our drive through the Ziz Valley to the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. When we get there, we will enjoy a camel trek in the desert dunes and savor the beauty of a unique desert sunset. We will call it a night at a desert camp.
After a peaceful night in Merzouga Desert, we will get up early to watch the Saharan sunrise over the sand dunes & then have breakfast. Following that, we will journey thtough the dramatic Todra Gorges, a favorite spot for climbers and hikers. Next, we will continue to the picturesque Dades Gorges, where we will spend the night.
A new day is always a new adventure ! We will drive to Marrakech via the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs. We will pass by Skoura and the cinematic city of Ouarzazate. Next, we shall visit the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and filming location for many Hollywood films such as ” The Mummy”, ” Gladiator etc… After that, we will cross the High Atlas Mountains and carry on our drive into the red city of Marrakech.
After resting at a traditional Riad in Marrakech, we will set out to Discover the magic of Marrakech, a city full of life, adventure and color. Next, we will Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and walk around the lively souks of the Medina. Last but not least, we will end our day in the iconic Jemaa el-Fnaa square, a popular place full of performers, street food, and local charm as well as rooftops. Here our 6-day tour from Tangier to Marrakech concludes when we drop you off at your Riad/ Airport.
