During our 1-day tour itinerary Merzouga, we will kick off our journey into the Sahara in a comfortable 4×4 vehicle. First off, we will begin by exploring Erg Chebbi dunes ( around 10 miles away from Merzouga village) and we are going to enjoy the serenity and vastness of the desert with its towering sand dunes. Second, we will visit the traditional village of Khamlia, where we will be welcomed with mint tea and live Gnawa music, played by friendly people who are originally from sub-Saharan Africa.
Third, we are going to dive deeper into the desert and visit a nomadic Berber family. Once we are there, we will immerse ourselves in their way of living and learn about their traditions, and the challenges of living in the Sahara as a nomad. Next, as we explore, we will occasionally make several stops to take pictures and admire the beauty of the sand dunes, fossil sites etc…
Following that, we will go on a camel ride through the dunes& guided by a local camel man. Once we are somewhere high on the Sand dunes, we could try sandboarding on that soft desert sand. Last but not least, we are going to take a moment to witness an amazing sunset from a high sand dune, take pictures and savor every moment of that magical sunset.
