Our 6 day adventure begins in Casablanca, Morocco’s modern and economic center. We will visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque and head north to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco. Here, we will explore some landmarks such as the Royal Palace, the Hassan Tower, and the Kasbah of the Udayas. In the afternoon, we will continue driving to the imperial city of Fes; it is a spiritual and cultural center of Morocco. At night, we will stay in a traditional riad in the medina.
On the second day of our journey, we will dive into Fes el-Bali, one of the oldest and most authentic medinas. Once there, we will wander through its narrow cobble-stoned alleys, explore the famous Al-Qarawiyyin University (the oldest university in the world), the Chouara Tannery ( a place where they make leather goods) and stop by many artisan souks. After that, we will drive around and visit some monuments such as Bou Inania Madrasa and the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud). In the evening, we will relax at our Riad and spend the night there.
After breakfast, we are going to travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains. First Stop will be in Ifrane, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco,” then visit the Cedar Forest near Azrou to spot monkeys and take pictures. Next, we will have Lunch in Midelt and continue through the Ziz Valley toward the Desert town of Erfoud. It is famous for fossils and dates. Finally, we are going to arrive in Merzouga, where the golden dunes of the Sahara await. At night, we are going to sleep in a desert camp.
Today is going to be a whole day in the Sahara desert. First, we are going to start with a 4×4 tour in the surrounding area, visit the village of Khamlia to enjoy live Gnawa music, and meet local nomadic families, have tea with them and take some photos. Following that, we are going to try the famous Berber pizza for lunch. In the late afternoon, we are going for a camel ride through the dunes and enjoy a breathtaking sunset. Last but not least, we are going to Spend the night in a desert camp under the stars with Berber music playing around the fire.
After a nice breakfast in the Sahara, we are going to leave for Rissani, a traditional town with a small yet vibrant market. Then, we are going to continue to the spectacular Todra Gorges. We are going out for a little walk between those cliffs. After that, we are going to continue our journey through the scenic semi-desert landscapes to reach Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” At night, we will spend the night at cozy riad.
On the last day of our 6-day tour from Casablanca, we are going to visit the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and filming location for Game of Thrones, Gladiator, and more. Following that, we are going to Cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. We will arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon. Once there, our tour ends and we will drop you off at your accommodation or the airport.
